Where Have You Been All My Life

So, I was messing around on my computer today when I came across this app in the utilities folder called Grapher. Now, I've seen this app there before and assumed it had something to do with tracking system performance, so I never felt the need to check it out, but today, I decided to look into it (mostly because I really didn't feel like writing this post).

As it turns out, Grapher is, in fact, a graphing calculator substantially more powerful than my beloved TI-84 Plus Silver Edition (may it rest in peace). Apparently, it has been bundled with Mac OS X since the debut of Tiger (Siracusa, 2005, p. 20).

I am kicking myself for not having made use of it until now.

So, let's take a look at all that it can handle:

2-D and 3-D graphing

Cartesian coordinates & polar coordinates on both a linear and logarithmic scale

conic sections & parametric equations

series (summations & products)

single- and multi-variable calculus

linear algebra

combinatorics

along with all of your elementary algebra ("high-school math")

...and more!

I am so excited to see what all I can do with it! Here’s the beginning of something I’m working on right now. Yay math!:
