GRAPHICLASH G-SHOCK x JOHN WENTZ In each of GraffitiART magazine issues, we invite an artist to a graphic confrontation between his universe and the famous G-Shock watch. It is the turn of the American artist JOHN WENTZ to take up the challenge! John Wentz is a contemporary artist born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. His work is an exploration of process and technique. Working within the classical idiom of the human figure, his goal is to reduce and simplify the image to its core fundamentals: composition, colour, and mark-making. Paint application and brush strokes are broad and simplified as a mean to connect and convey these ideas to the viewer with an abstract sensibility. “Time and technology are contemporaneously intertwined in our everyday lives. We connect and schedule, we mark moments of the day and we exist in predominantly busy and fast-paced environments.
