The HighVisual Identity and custom typeface for the High, a bar in the heart of Munich serving contemporary highballs. The bars interior, drinks and atmosphere could be described as tropically brutal. The identity conveys this aesthetic with the sharp edged Type in contrast to a certain nostalgia and the high fidelity images and materials. www.drinkourballs.com Branding, custom typography, art-direction, drink cards, poster, business cards, responsive website. When TEDxWellington 2016 was announced, only the theme of ‘trust’ and the date of the event were made public. The tickets were put on sale with all of the speaker details and location kept entirely secret. At the event, there was no programme provided to outline the next speaker with delegates left in the dark about what would be up next. Photography within the venue was also strictly prohibited with only the official photographer allowed to document the experience. At the end of the day delegates received a photographic memento in the form of fifteen A5 cards bound together by a rubber band. The pack of cards served as a reminder of the day containing information about the event and the speakers.
The layout of the photos was designed to evoke the feeling of a set of polaroids which the delegates could flick through in their hands as they shared their experience with others after the event.
Curious matter, kindly supplied by B&F papers, was chosen as the paper stock for it’s great tactile texture and its vibrant red, which fitted perfectly with TED’s classic red/white/black colour palette.
