But I wanna hear some thoughts on Rodorah, if you want.
I never care for it but boy!! with Rodorah it was just Abuse, abuse, abuse. Rodan feel ending up the fandom punchball at some point. Most of the time at least.
I was planning on making a whole rant abt this dunno if I will cuz I have testing today n I am TIRED and I no no wanna… buuuut.
Rodorah is a decently good ship on paper, it can be interesting and geniunely great if anyone bothers to portray it correctly, spoiler! no one does that.
Every single time I see anything Rodorah related it’s literally just Ghidorah harassing Rodan and Rodan cannot do ANYTHING about it because of the physical and emotional (?) power imbalance, r Ghidorah constantly oversteps Rodan’s boundaries and the writer does nothing to address that Ghidorah’s relationship with Rodan is toxic. I’m all for toxic yaoi, but this is just EUGHHHHH. It’s literally the Slave x Master trope is THATS disgusting. Now if their relationship was something that started off toxic, the writer addressed Ghidorah’s issues and they were properly dealt with, I would be fine with it, but NO ONE DOES THAT. It was always, “Ghidorah harasses Rodan until he gets what he wants, Rodan is a crybaby about it waa” OOO AAA STFU FUCK. It’s something that geniunely pisses me off.
ESPECIALLY when they make it seem like Rodan cannot defend himself and make him a “Bitch” I HATE BITCH RODAN. Rodan is strong in his own way, he handled himself pretty well against Ghidorah and Mothra, and while he lost both battles he still picked up a damn good fight. Rodan is still a strong kaiju and seeing him get reduced to being a “bitch” gets on my actually fucking nerves, and this is the most frequent with fucking RODORAH. Where Rodan is seen as nothing but a bottom bitch who can’t fight back.
