Song Meaning & Visual Story

The music video stars off with a depressed girl sitting on the edge of a building, possibly contemplating suicide. This is because she's trapped in a time loop where the day resets by night as rainfall stills in the air before it hits the ground. Additionally, a boy is trapped in the time loop with her. Their souls are tied together in more ways than one. The boy and girl are lovers. Unfortunately, the boy is destined to kill the girl, while she's fated to die if the universe is ever allowed to move on. However, he loves her too much to kill her even if the girl's wish is to die at the hands of someone she loves since she must die. Instead, the boy gifts her a flower to express his love in hopes he can find an alternative to solving their predicament. Thus, each night, the girl cries to the moon at the loss of her freedom to live her life. She's a pure and innocent girl who doesn't deserve this, but she soon becomes lost in her despair. Eventually, the boy comes to terms with their situation and decides to shoot the girl he loves to save everyone else in the world. In the end, he's left standing alone, finally witnessing gravity come into effect as time moves on and rain begins to pour around him.
