FT: Chilled Abs — Gray Fullbuster / Male Reader

The heat was sticky and humid, the weather forecast showed that this was going to be the big heatwave week and the Fairy Tail guild had the brightest idea of having a beach day out of all days!
All you could do was sit down on a folded chair, underneath a large umbrella to cover you from the hot sun and watch the waves.
That was the plan.
But Natsu and Gray were butting heads again, proclaiming that their beef would best be handled with a volleyball match.
You tried your best to stay quiet and let them fight, but Elfman and all the other guys from the guild ran down to involve themselves and wanting to play too.
Natsu turned around, seeing all the guys participate and notice you were left behind. “Heyyy! (Y/n)!!! We need one more player on my team!” He cried out, waves both hands side to side to alert you.
Gray clicked his teeth at Natsu’s loud mouth. “Hey, who said he’s on your team!” The ice master exclaimed, poking the fire breathers chest. “I didn’t say I was playing, by the way!” You yelled out, but no one heard your protest.
“Oh come on, you’ve got all the heavy hitters!”
“Then let’s switch, you get Elfman and (y/n) joins my team.” Gray reasoned, crossing his arms. “I said I’m not playing!” Completely ignoring that you’ve been telling them in background that you really don’t want to be apart of this.
“Just split the teams three to three, you guys don’t need me!” You yelled out but to no avail. Gray and Natsu’s competitive nature made them good magic users, but horrible dense as hell listeners.
Without warning, Gray carried you to the court, the sun beaming down on you, immediately feeling sweat build up on your forehead a bit, you looked at your empty abandoned folded chair with solum. You miss the shade already…
You felt exhausted after that match. It was a total waste too since everyone had their own rules of how volleyball worked. Gajeel left mid game, Fried didn’t like being coached by Natsu, Bickslow wasn’t paying attention to the rules, Jet and Droy were salty that they never got to serve the ball, Elfman was enabling everyone to start fighting that it resulted in Gray and Natsu bickering so much that it ended being a 1v1 against each other in volleyball, so much for team building.
All you did was stand in the hot sun for hours, as your toes were digging into the soft but burning sand.
So with everyone busy watching Natsu and Gray you walked away and made it back to your throne! You missed your folded chair, the sweet shade, and the iced tea you had sitting in the cup holder. You finally returned!
But…the umbrella you had was taken away while you were gone, making your seat very hot since it was being hit by the sun all day, and your drink was no longer cool but lukewarm at best and the ice was melted…
You groaned in exhaustion to yourself. They just haaaaad to get you be apart of their dumb little volleyball spat.
The only victim in this was your spot…and drink.
A shadow loomed over to you. “Hey, sorry about bringing you along that poor match..” it was Gray’s voice, you turned around to see the ice user rub his neck with shame, apologizing to you sincerely.
“That damn Natsu always has to be a hard ass about everything.” The ice user cursed, turning his head briefly away from you as he watched Erza curse out Natsu; who was currently being punished by cleaning up the beach for going too far.
“I’m guessing Erza had you apologized to me?” You teased. Noticing his embarrassed and hesitant expressions.
Gray chuckled. “No, I mean she did! But I wanted to come and lay it out anyways cause I genuinely did feel bad for getting you involved despite you saying you rather not.” He explained. You crossed your arms, letting him continue.
“That was completely my bad and I take responsibility, even if that hot head won’t …” Gray added. You sighed, he still is budding heads even when the two aren’t even talking to each other.
You wiped your forehead, shaking your head to fight this damn heat. Gray took notice.
“Whoa you’re really sweating bullets.” He pointed out bluntly. You huffed in response “yeah, I don’t do well in the summer, that’s why I stayed under that umbrella.” You breathed out, your face feeling hot and sticky every passing moment. You just wanted relief, go inside, dunk your head in water, anything!
Gray had an idea. Something that he’d think would make everyone happy.
“Since your umbrella’s gone, wanna chill in my spot for the rest of the time we have at beach?” He suggested, genuinely wanting to make this right to you.
“I even have to best way to cool off!” Gray beamed at you.
“Oh really?” You inquired.
“Yeah, buuut you’re not gonna like it.”
“Fuck it, I’m honestly desperate to beat the heatwave at this point…”
“Just lay your head on my chest and my magic will cool you off in no time!” Gray patted his abs, beckoning you to his spot.
You let out a long sigh. Well you did say you were desperate. It’s better than dealing with a heatstroke. You honestly will put aside your embarrassment and ego for this one time. And you trust Gray not to try anything with you.
You got close to him, your head rested softly on his pecs and abs, you could already feel the heat from your body and head whither away!
You weren’t sure how he managed to make his body cool enough that you felt like you were laying face first what felt an AC unit but you didn’t care.
You could always ask him how he used that ice magic of his tomorrow.
But you were more preoccupied with Gray’s cool chest.
His chest wasn’t rock hard, it was actually soft and ribbed, and his pec were good pillows too. This wasn’t too bad.
You could feel Gray smile as he asked you “Better?”
“Much better.”
That was the last thing you said to him before you drifted off to sleep. Gray chuckled as he saw how relaxed you were lying on him. He couldn’t help but smile seeing how peaceful and in bliss you were right now.
Sure a few guys at the guild heckled Gray for a bit and the girls cooed and awed as they saw how peaceful and cute you looked resting your head onto Gray’s cooled chest.
But when the sun was setting, most of the guild left, but Gray stayed behind to keep an eye on you.
You did almost have a heatstroke all because of him and his rivalry with Natsu. This was his responsibility and he was going to make it up to you.
When you were deep into sleeping, curled to his chest, Gray patted your head, moving any strands of hair from your face.
