He Who Hates the Cold
Me: You need to go out.
GM: Make me, human.
Me: *carries him out*
GM: *hissing* NUUUU! Do not take one step further. I'll rip your face off. I'll do it, I swear I will.
The Unhappy Pets
LBM wants to cuddle and play with kitty. LBM is also in full guard mode since the “cougar ate neighbor’s chickens” incident.
GM is in survival mode. Oh, Gray Monster is so in survival mode he’s back to feral behaviors. He’s delicately balanced on the, “I want you to scratch my ear but I also have the urge to bite and claw.”
Kitty is so spooked. His speed in the snow is absolute crap and he knows it. He’s dashing for LBM every single time he knows she’s outside. And trying to remove him from the sunroom means there’s a 75% of getting bit.
He’s not happy and he’s letting everyone know it. Hopefully, I can get LBM to pack down the snow walkways for him so if there is trouble, he can run to his hiding places on the higher decks.
Me: * lets the kitty in the sunroom, gives him scritches, tries to get the worst of the snow off of him*
Mom: You really like that cat.
Me: I'm trying to be kind and prevent him from getting frostbite.
What I think is going on in Gray Monster’s mind sometimes
“THEY’LL NEVER MAKE ME LEAVE. NOPE. STAYING RIGHT HERE. DON’T YOU TRY IT HUMAN. I WILL RIP YOUR FACE OFF. I WILL BITE YOU, HUMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Dude, do you seriously think I want to kick you out in the dark cold night? I’m too broke to get you a litter box, asshole. Go bathroom, yowl at the door, and I’ll let you back in. That is all you have to do, cat.
*le sigh* Yay for allergy meds working. The cat has buttered me up and claimed my plant growing room.
Feral Cat in the House, I repeat...
Man, I wish I had my phone for this.
So Gray Monster snuck in the house, trotted through the kitchen and stopped by the stairs (on the other side is a toasty fire). I’m calling him to come back (cause he ate and needed a bathroom trip).
Then there was the clicking of nails on the floor followed by Gray Monster just booking it back to the sunroom. LBM sprinted from the other side of the house to “herd” the kitty back to where he’s supposed to be.
That followed with the expected shouts of asshole as the cat kept dodging my attempts to get him back outside, LBM barking and whining the whole time (she wanted to play with him).
So, asshole kitty is in a section of the sunroom where only the 4-legged occupants can get to and whenever he looks at me he has his ears back. The instant I got back inside, he went back to hugging the inner door. Making where I cannot go out without him getting in.
Like I’ve said, the cat is an asshole.
I am sure that Gray Monster is plotting something. That cat has been seriously grumpy and in an “I will bite” mood.
Grumpy kitties are cute and all, but Gray Monster looks like he’s about to commit murder whenever it’s time to get him out of the sunroom. Hopefully, I do not get bit by him (again).
Making the fur babies happy
Weather turning cold means both of my monsters are fussy. LBM’s gotten 6 months of dog food delivered to the door and she doesn’t understand why she doesn’t get to eat it all now. So there’s been a whiny dog following me around when I have to go into the garage.
LBM’s beds are getting flat so I’m on the hunt for new, warm beds for winter. She will need a bath before I give them to her. She is a very dirty puppy and despite being a water dog I cannot get her to follow me into the bathroom for a bath. So, waiting for snow so she’ll give herself a bath by rolling in the snow.
Gray Monster (AKA, the Large on Luck kitty) is very clingy. The mouser is getting too old to hunt and the lil guy knows he needs to be a plump kitty for winter. He got so sick during the wildfires and high heat weeks that he probably lost 50% of his weight and refused to eat for a while, so his beginning point for weight gain is disturbing. (This summer mom and I were able to see his ribs, that’s when we upped his meals.) Due to this, every time I see him yowling for attention I give him food and let him in the sunroom for naps.
He knows winter is coming and he is not happy. I’ve set him up with a sacrifice of a sweater for a bed in the sunroom and he’s happy with his sometimes home. Still not letting him spend the full night, but when the worst of the cold happens I’ll see how long he can stay in there with a heater.
Lots of work behind making the fur babies happy for winter.
