I'm just gonna state the facts outright THIS IS NOT A REX LIVES AU HE DIES ITS AN EMOTIONAL DEATH AND ITS HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I DIDNT WANT TO SAY THE ENDING FIRST BUT GUUGUHHHHHH RAAAGHHGHFHGGUUGJGHHHHH

The timeline itself is stretched out from the original, but t place it somewhere, the GDJU (Mark, Rex, and Kate) gets away from the GDA around the end of season 2. After that things are kind of a mess, but they're figuring shit out while crashing with others. Everything is sunshine rainbows once it settles though :)

However in In their equivilant of the Angstrom multiverse fight, Graysted and Cliffe joint kamikaze to beat them and win. See, Cliffe's body is rigged to fucking explode upon death so nobody could get their hands on the more experimental tech inside of him, and it's powerful enough to take out a few city blocks. This scene combines the "I NEED YOU CECIL!!" and "my entire goddamn skeleton" ones into one.

Mark barely survives, and is reconstructed and kept alive using the obedience collar (shown to help brind back immortal twice l'm using this). But he is barely alive and a blank she'll for a few months (while they figure out how to Bring Him Back)

Both dying and Rex's passing changed him, physically and mentally. He's broken and darker. He turns back to the GDA voluntarily for a long time until being forced to go off planet makes him turn the fuck around.

It takes a while for him to start piecing himself together. Mark carries Rex's memory in everything he creates for the rest of his life, and after most others he knows passes on he carried reminants of them with him. Rex' memory also lives on in his stupid little Al assistant he has named R3X, who later changes to Deto-Nate (he/it)

Deto-Nate is annoying as shit (programmed to be like Rex) and nobody really likes it except Mark and Rudy, until it gets a Real Boy arc,,, its so cutieful <3

Another thing from a while back of graycliffe featuring samcliffe reunion 🥹🥹🥹 (gs is jeaaalouussss) AND ACCIDENTAL LORE DUMP

Sam and Cliffe become friends again, this is after SamWill broke up so they're like flirty for a bit, but that's more so Cliffe b/c Sam is VERY hesitant.

She quickly puts together that Graysted is Invincible (since she knows Rex Splode = Rex and isn't stupid) but doesn't say anything because Secret Identities Are Important and feels like there's something else going on with him (she dislikes Invincible bc he's a dick, she's unsure about Mark bc hes… weird, combine and it's complicated)

ANYWAY Graycliffe situationship but GS is still very jealous about it, and it's actually mostly b/c Sam is so representing his "old life" and is afraid he'll want to go back and, well, abandon him for her. Also he's just jealous because he wants Cliffe to himself (he never directly says this. Loser ass)
