In January I was given my #bipolar1 diagnosis. Feeling lost, dazed, confused, and flawed I truly thought I would amount to nothing moving forward. I contemplated suicide... I felt hopeless.🥺 But what came to light was my diagnosis wasn’t an end all be all, but an awakening for me to get things under control. And I did... I got a family therapist who helped me repair the relationships with my sister, grandma, and mother. An EMDR therapists who’s helped me become mindful of my highs and lows, and get through my past traumas. And a kick ass psychiatrist who has worked with me and not drugged me to the extent of being a zombie.😒 I’ve lost more weight than I could imagine, and the urges to drink alcohol 🍷 have diminished substantially. If you’re currently struggling know there’s hope when you put in the work. You may not see it at that time but you will in retrospect.
