What's a Grayowl Point?
It is Throwback Thursday, so I (Michael) would like to bring you back to June 2009, with the inception of the blog. A lot of you might be wondering where "Grayowl Point" came from, so I'll tell you. I grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, and in that city there's a street called Golden Orchard, off of which are several nature-inspired street names like Cedar Creek and Swirlingleaves. One day I was biking along Golden Orchard with a friend, and we passed by a tiny little street called Greyowl Point. Noting the name, I said that if the two of us ever started a band, we should call it Greyowl Point. Literally the next day, I created the blog, and when thinking about a name, that conversation came to mind. I forgot how the street was spelled, so "Greyowl Point" became "Grayowl Point." And quite frankly, I thought the latter was a bit more aesthetically pleasing. So there you have it! The origin of the blog name.

Grayowl Point Year in Review - November
November, as usual, was a busy month for those of us still in school, as it's typically the time of the year where semester-end projects begin to pile up. It was also another great musical month, which featured our last Crosswires co-promotion with Crosswires, featuring Valued Customer, Zoo Owl and Illitry. It was a big month for Zoo Owl in particular, releasing his first song and also being interviewed by our own Jack Derricourt, a recent but excellent addition to our writing team. I would interview Valued Customer, and suffice to say I got a lot of good quotes.
Meanwhile, Laura fell in love with Corey Isenor's Hollowbody, Elena sung the praises for Jessy Lanza's Pull My Hair Back and Jack found new faith in rock and roll with an EP by Montreal band She's.
