Elijah grit his teeth and pressed his head harder into Grayson’s chest.

The doctor—probably unlicensed, definitely on Myles’s payroll—pretended not to hear the quiet words of comfort as he wove the last few stitches on Elijah’s leg. It was the first time Myles ever got so carried away that he needed to call in reinforcements to keep his prisoner from bleeding out.

Elijah was surprised he had even bothered, and even more so that he had allowed the procedure to happen in the basement, where he could have the solace of Grayson at his side during, but he was grateful, nonetheless.

Elijah was looking resolutely forward, hands still clutching the steering wheel, even though the car engine was already off. “If you’re uncomfortable, you don’t have to come in with me,” he said stiffly. “I can take you back home.”

Ironically, it was Elijah’s discomfort that was thick enough to cut with a knife. Grayson watched him for a moment, taking in the rigid posture in his shoulders, his back. The way he wouldn’t look in his direction. For… what? Fear of rejection? Of judgment? The thought soured his stomach.

Elijah shoots a sideways smile at Grayson, who raises an eyebrow in turn. “Do you know what I’m going to say?”

“I…” Grayson thinks about it. “Maybe?”

“What’s your answer?”

Grayson blushes. “They asked you.”

“They actually did not specify who they asked.”

“Well, you go first,” Grayson sputters.

“Fine.” Elijah’s smile stays sly and teasing for only a few seconds more, before it slides into a grimace. “There weren’t a lot of happy memories in the first few months of freedom. It took a while for me to even feel free at all. But… when things finally started to look up, there was this night, at the end of last Summer. Grayson called me late in the middle of the night, and he came and picked me up and we—”

“Wait!”

“What?!”

“I don’t think they know that part of the story yet!”

Elijah throws his hands up, exasperated. “Well, what are they waiting for?! Get to the good part!”

Place a few characters in a karaoke bar. Describe the scene and what songs they choose to sing.

For Elijah and Grayson

First of all, both Elijah and Grayson would be VIOLENTLY outside of their comfort zone in a karaoke bar, especially if they're the ones on stage.

But given some liquid courage, here is what I think they would sing:

Elijah would surprise everyone by getting up onstage in his all-black attire, black nail polish, little smudges of eyeliner... and then pull out some classic gay shit like Tiny Dancer.

Grayson would also pull a wild card by whipping out some old country music—think Tim McGraw core—and start slurring his words into a southern twang that he absolutely does not have.

Elijah would find it endearing on a level that would require him to down two more shots to keep the feeling at bay.

hi there its me again, could you post faceclaims for elijah and grayson? i think you have in the past but i'm inept at hellsite and cannot find them to save my life. ty <3<3

WELL, you see, I’ve made a faceclaim post for them before, but I was never fully happy with them in my head. They didn’t quite fit. So I’ve done some thinking & some important research and HERE is what I came up with.

Elijah Porter

Grayson Dawning

Myles Voss

If it wasn’t for that last day, if that never happened: would Grayson have reached out?

I know I haven't yet shown the immediate aftermath of the captivity and rescue, but I think, had things not gone the way they did on the last day, they never would have lost touch to begin with. I think that they would have clung to each other.

Which is not to say they didn't already want to cling to each other. They very much did, individually.

It also isn't just that incident from the last day that caused issues between them. There was two full months worth of guilt and self-blame over the repeated abuse that happened to only one of them and Grayson's acts of rebellion that ended up getting Elijah hurt, and then of course Elijah's major act of rebellion—trying to run away—which ended up hurting Grayson in the end. It was a bad, bad 58 days.

So basically, things would have been different, for sure. But they would have had their issues to work through regardless.

Something you don’t want the other to ever know

I’ve been sitting on this ask for weeks, but now is the perfect time to post…

Elijah

“I never want him to know the details of what I had to do with Myles. He doesn’t need that on his shoulders.”

Grayson

His face goes pale, and suddenly he can’t look at you. “I… I woke up. The night that Myles… when he came into the cell and”—he breaks off, closing his eyes—“and assaulted Elijah, in front of me. I woke up and I just… I couldn’t move. I knew, logically, there was nothing I could do to stop him, and— and I heard what he threatened. What he would make me do or… or do to Elijah if I woke up, and I couldn’t. I just couldn’t do that.”

A cold laugh cuts through his tears.

“I guess, in the end, that didn’t matter anyway.”

🗝 Grayson, why haven’t you gone to see Elijah?

He blinks at you, astonished. “Are you kidding? I am the last thing he needs in his life right now. And almost definitely the last thing he wants.”

He turns away to hide whatever is happening in his eyes, which look suspiciously a lot like tears. “All I want is for him to be okay, and to get better, and to… to be happy, after everything that happened. That’s never going to happen if I’m hanging around. I’ve caused Elijah enough damage for one lifetime, don’t you think?”
