Working on an idea that the love square in Miraculous Ladybug can be compared to the love triangle in Grease 2. One of them is in love with the masked persona of the other, in Adrien's case possibly just the mask of Ladybug like Stephanie loves the thought of the Cool Rider without caring much for or wanting to know the person inside.

Marinette is annoyed by Cat Noir, Michael has chosen to become the Cool Rider because it could be said his regular self annoys Stephanie in a way.
