Well there was no other place to nap, really. And the train leaving for his house came in a solid half an hour. So naturally, Christopher wanted to nap. Evidently, there seemed to be only one place in the area where he was capable of doing that: the library. It was quiet, he can go in a corner and hide behind a book, and just nap. So that's precisely what he did.
