This whole conversation is obviously gold and there are a million things happening (I'm having to stop myself just capping and posting the whole thing, haha), but this in particular is such an interesting beat within this broader conversation. Yes, Louis' deifying of Lestat, Lestat's deification of himself, but also while it's played casually, it's also one of the only times we really see Louis push back on the idea that Lestat is purely a hedonist. He tells him that to his face - he doesn't believe that Lestat thinks they're only here for pleasure - and it's so interesting to me that it happens both so relatively early in their relationship, but also in the same episode that Louis brings Claudia home. Louis may not know the intimacies and intricacies of his history, but he does know him, no matter how much they both like to pretend that he doesn't.
