Great Hare - Carry On
What can you do but carry on? Four years after our last single was played on BBC 6 Music and received praise from Bella Union label boss Simon Raymonde, Great Hare is releasing a new track at the end of May. ”Carry On” is the sound of singer Kalle Mogren ruminating on loss and the things that drive us forward in spite of it. It’s more than a little inspired by a point in time when no one mixed the bleak and the colourful like New Order and The Fall. ”The chorus followed me around every time I rode my bike, and I was convinced that it was an old Factory or Rough Trade single. But I could never find it in my collection. So it turned into a song that's seems kind of fitting for where we are. There's no plan, we just keep going and sometimes we find songs worth keeping along the way.”
”Carry On” may sound like a personal mantra, but it’s also a manifesto of sorts. It’s the first song to be finished from a hard drive containing years of half-finished songs and captured moments. We hope you like it.

Swedish indie rock band Great Hare formed when four friends in Gothenburg got together after a long hiatus from music. Naming ourselves after nocturnal chance encounters with wild hares, we turned a loft into a recording studio and brought drums, guitars, tape delay machines, keyboards, pink chorus pedals, an old piano and influences from the post-punk era we grew up in. We turn up at nights looking for melodies that want to be turned into songs. The good ones arrive like waves hitting a beach or echoes of something submerged under the surface. (press release)
