If you live under a rock, which I completely understand because I do as well, you might’ve not heard of the amazing show called Outlander on Starz. Starz is a premium subscription, like HBO, meaning you have to pay extra.
Basically, it takes place in the 1940s and it’s about Claire Randall who after the war goes to the Highlands in Scotland with her husband, Frank Randall. While there they encounter a ritual at Craigh na Dun, which are some standing stones (fictional), later on that day Claire goes back and gets transported 200 years into the past. There she meets Jamie Fraser. And well you should watch to know what happens next.
First reason as to why you should watch this show is cause the cast is amazing, their acting is amazing and they are amazingly gorgeous. Mainly Sam Heughan, go google him and come back.
I assume you’ve googled. Anyways the plot that this series follows is so intricate, well-done and well-written that even if you don’t know history you will understand, plus they don’t shy away from the reality of the 18th century. In the 18th century there were wars, women were treated like shit most of the time, and rape was a big thing. Now I know what I just wrote can people deter you away from watching this show. But Claire doesn’t let herself fall into the norms of those time, the show is actually very #girlboss.
Third and last reason is that they have some KILLER fighting scenes (and sex scenes). You can really tell how much the actors put into the show.
I don’t know if you’re completely sold, because I tend to be really bad at convincing people and also describing things. What I’m trying to say is that you should watch this show because it kicks ass, it’s based on books and there are currently 8 books in the series. And there are two wonderful seasons to stream on Starz, the third one is just coming out and it’s already picked up for a fourth. From what I’ve read of the first book they really do stick to the story, so if you’re into reading the books and watching there you go. The costumes, the filming, the writing, everything really is just very well-done. So yeah. I have my Starz subscription through Amazon Prime, and last week’s season premiere was already there Sunday at 3 AM when it airs at 8 or 9 PM. The only thing that kinda upsets me with Starz is that they only give you one week trial.
Now story time, this will have Outlander GIFs throughout it because I haven’t used all of the ones I downloaded yet lol.
First of all I watched the show back in Puerto Rico before we moved and season two was still coming out and when we got to the U.S we didn’t have Starz. When I found out the day season was going to come out I said the week before I’m going to get Starz so that I could finish watching season two and then watch season three as it came out. That is exactly what I did last week. As you know we got hit with Irma and so they let us out of school from that Thursday all the way until today and with all that time in my hands I did homework and most importantly watched what was left of Outlander and I re-watched the first season and half of the second one.
And so I started. Je suis prest means I am ready in French.
I literally finished two seasons in one week. And I did homework.
The whole time I’m just over here thinking that Claire and Jamie better be end game.
Anyways I hope I was able to get you to at least watch the trailer for season one. If you’re fellow Outlander fan please let me know because I don’t anyone who watches it, so it’s hard to discuss one of my favorite shows with people who’ve never heard of it.
