So, we know what happens if Death were to be killed, but the question I have is can they even be killed, as weakened as they are currently?

They could not be killed, no. What could eventually happen, if Quaboth didn't got to them in time, is the complete severing of Death's connection to the Great River of Souls.

That would lead to chaos and the end of the world after a long, long time. It would not be a pleasant sight.
