those words struck a nerve. in his already worsened mental state from the stress of oscorp and his declining health, peter had the audacity to play the hero? to pretend like it would all be okay? to act like this wasn't his fault?

harry knows not all of it was peter's fault. it couldn't be. but right now he wasn't being rational. he was angry, confused, frightened. nothing was going the way it should. his research and efforts were crumbling. nothing was getting better.

if peter had only helped him instead of turned him away like his father did, this wouldn't be happening.

" it's okay? it's okay, peter? is it? " he'll shake his head before holding up his twitching hand, " does this look okay to you, peter? does it? because, to me, it doesn't. look. okay! " harry will slam his hand down on the nearby table, immediately wincing in pain. his breathing was heavy but uneven as he tried to calm himself down.

he wasn't paranoid or panicking because of peter. he's trying to tell himself that over and over. but with peter being in front of him during a moment of great weakness and vulnerability, it made him an easy target. soft blue eyes will lock onto peter's, filled with nothing but fear and confusion.
