Aren’t the handmade cards and messages the greatest gifts on Mother’s Day? . A mother's guilt is something we constantly hear about. We talk about it because it’s real. What I didn’t know then but I know now is how much seeing my mum going to work was a powerful and profound influence. - Mum never came to help read in the class room and never made lamingtons for the school fete because frankly she had s*#t to do, probably didn’t know what a lamington was and had English to learn herself. - I have a lot of girl crush respect for extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. - Some I admire and respect up close and some I will never meet and admire from a far. - When I think about the definition of a role model though, it's not the woman who gave that "amazing" TED talk or the latest regrammed Instagram quote. - It's the woman at work. - The women who were spoilt today and will get up early tomorrow, get kids and themselves organised and get to work and business for the start of a new week. - No more guilt, a gift that we can raise our children to follow their dreams because they watch us follow ours.
