I finished Greedfall TDW
Spoilers ahead and some point discussions on how my gameplay went, if you want to read and maybe can answer some of my questions on how I ended up with that ending, is much appreciated!
So... I'm still processing the ending and properly thinking how I feel about it but first thoughts? Mixed feelings.
Since it was just released last week I imagine they will have to deal with tons of bug fixes for some time, I did encounter a few myself but points on how I ended up:
Managed to not romance anyone which was funny, I was aiming for Ludwig but I might have not reach the max level with him or not flirt enough because the romance scene never triggered and you know who yes flirted back? Both Nilan and Sybille lol, I explore all the romance conversations because I wanted to hear their thoughts but not sure why they flirted back and not Ludwig.
By the final battle Sybille died and I don't know what I did wrong! We were all max out and I did upgrade all the gear of us so not sure why this happened, maybe I will replay the last battle with her in my team to double check if maybe that saves her?
Till was a curious companion, not sure if he was added last minute but he did not have any mission related to him which too sad, I thought he was going somewhere for his redemption arc and also, did he lose a son or was a way to speak to the young soldier???? That was never discussed further
I might bug out somehow Fausta, I did her mission to help his brother and her whole mission to rescue her (even tho I believe this happens either way) but whenever we were on the ship she has the '!' icon but nothing new was discussed so Im not sure if I ended up her storyline, at least with Ludwig, Nilan, Sybille and Alvida made sense their stories and missions and seems all complete (how I manage to kill Sybs still bugs me lol I really like her)
My fav storyline was Nilan hands down, I cried a little bit when he became the leader of the clan in the continent.
Also, same discussion with Safia, not sure about her story/mission. I did the one where her ex lover (I think/recall they were engaged) try to betray us and then nothing, never brought up again and that got me confused, not sure if this was on porpuse or I did anything wrong for her missions just like Fausta.
Besides being unsure if I finish their storylines, overall the ending epilogue was good for all of them (RIP Sylbille) but why Till became an alcoholic in my game (?????????????????????? it's mention something regarding him starting to drink alcohol and I was like WHY, I mean, if he has no mission how the F that happens or he ends up like that either way? Am I missing something?
Also, by the epilogue and the father something talking to someone else I was so intrigued to know who was he talking to but no clue, not sure if I missed anything or if maybe it was like that for interpretation/maybe for a future game? but for a moment I thought it was going to be linked to anyone from the first greedfall, maybe Petrus?
I wonder if there is at least some other ending/endings like the first one and I understand that maaaaaybe not much was said regarding De Sardet since we can choose two different endings but being that its only 3 years prior I was expecting more connection between games but only brief mentions there and there, again I might miss something but so far I only found a letter from Aphra and one mention on clothes for Constantine, besides that no mention of De Sardet at least or even any other person like idk Vasco. Having a De Vespe it's mentioned Aurelia but....
Ngl, could not really hate the bad guy so much since he is Neil Newbon and recently playing BG3 I was like, I cannot hate Astarion lol he did amazingly obviously!
So Yeah, overall I did have fun playing and my Vriden Gerr has a special place in my heart already, she is such a badass and the horrors she endures, like, I love my DS but their stories are so different and just from their different upbrinings you experience first hands how much harder is for VG to do everything in comparison to DS who has priviliges from the get go even tho he is from Teer Farde too.
And I do want to point out how much they improve from one game to the other for a indie company and again I did enjoy myself but maybe by the end I was expecting a little bit more of conections between both games (maybe the dragon age gameplays did their numbers on me since they are all so connected I have my expectations). But yeah, overall? I did enjoy it and maybe I will replay just to check if I can make a different outcome but yes the ending was a little bit of disapointment for me, glad my girl got a happy ending and of course I can always headcanon different stories for her and my DS.
