Life is rather confusing for Marno.
Pepper laid her first little green egg!!!!
It finally happened!! We got 10 baby chicks today!!
We went to Tractor Supply and they had a few breeds of pullet chicks to choose from. The 10 we picked were:
6 Starlight Green Eggers
2 Amberlinks
2 Production Reds
The Starlights had a good variety of colors and we like being able to tell apart individuals in our flock, so more of them came home with us. The other two breeds looked a little more uniform, but we got a pair of each. That way they have a buddy like them!
So far they're settling in well in the brooder. There is a stuffed animal in there for comfort.
We do already have a troublemaker who's picking on everyone else like she thinks she's the queen. Hopefully she'll settle down with time, but we've already named her Victoria. She's one of the little blond girls and she's got a little V on her forehead. She's the one at the bottom of the picture. I'm 80% sure she's an Amberlink.
