They’re totally not wearing like Hogwarts robes, nope.
"A painting, you know, it's all dirty material. But it's about transformation. Taking that earth, that heavy earthen kind of thing, turning it into air and light."

Green Study
Swinging Brushes Again
After having spent the last weeks reading, doing yoga, preparing for the next semester and plotting world-domination with my friends, I am finally at the point again where I want to paint. Thanks to Shawn Barber's still-life painting video, painting started to look really good again.
So, I set up a nice arrangement of greens from the garden (and kitchen) and made an agreement with myself to experiment.
Experiment Part 1: Use weird-ass brushes... "Filberts, I may yet discover why you exist." Same goes for the freebie-pack of shitty synthetic sables from the Paint San Clemente gift bag.
Experiment Part 2: Paint with the goal in mind of using some indirect painting techniques... "ick, yuck, god give me strength." Just kidding ;) I'm exaggerating!
So here you see stage one of the experiment. Next stage to follow shortly or whenever else the paints decide to be dry. I hope my zucchini and tomato can last that long!
