What might be a dream for many is a reality in Central Indiana. With the combined passions of farming and nutrition, husband and wife team Matt Ewer and Beth Blessing launched Green BEAN Delivery in 2007 to connect local farmers and artisans with customers seeking convenient shopping for healthy, clean food.
Green BEAN Delivery’s local farmer and artisan partners in Central Indiana are carefully selected based on the cleanliness, freshness and packaging of their produce, as well as their ability to produce a high volume of product. Much of the produce offered in the Green BEAN Delivery bins is also grown at the company’s Feel Good Farm in Sheridan, the largest organic produce farm in Indiana.
“People today want to know where their food comes from,” explains Trisha Brand, marketing and member services supervisor at Green BEAN Delivery. “We have thousands of loyal members who love the high-quality local produce they receive in our completely customizable bins.”
In just eight years, Green BEAN Delivery has grown from a service operating out of a single walk-in refrigerator and delivery van to a company that has invested more than $10 million in regional food systems through local procurement and hired more than 200 employees. When Green BEAN Delivery moved into its new, spacious headquarters in the spring of 2015, the Indy Chamber was there to help celebrate! An Indy Chamber membership also provides the company with networking and marketing opportunities to help grow its business.
Conscious of those in need in the community, Green BEAN Delivery has donated over 666,421 pounds of fresh food to fight food insecurity. With a central belief in empowering communities to make healthy food choices, IU Health and Green BEAN Delivery launched Garden on the Go to increase access to healthy fruits and vegetables in urban Indianapolis neighborhoods.
