Just had a thought, you may or may not know about the Tumblr Saviour extension for Chrome - it's handy, you can put in words that you don't want to see and Saviour will hide those posts (with a note so you can expand them if you want). E.g. things like "nsfw", or a particular TV show or celebrity that you're not interested in, or any subjects that make you particularly uncomfortable. If people use those words in the post/tags, Saviour hides the post.
Have just installed xKit which is very useful. Will try Saviour too! Thanks for the info - this will be very useful to my Tumblr learning curve. Much appreciated.
