day 2 of jox week for @greencreekweeks: anniversary
joe is a classic hopeless romantic, and for every anniversary he and ox have, he goes all out
he has his traditions
he makes them dress up all fancy so they can have a romantic candlelit dinner, and then afterward they go dancing, slow and sweet
they walk together in the moonlight in the woods before they shift and run together
he keeps track of all the days they spend together, marking them in a notebook he keeps, and on each anniversary he reminds ox how many days they’ve spent together and how many more they’ll have
ox is more of a subtle romantic, sweet and kind, and his gestures are simple but they mean all the more for it
he buys joe a bouquet of flowers for every anniversary they have, usually white roses, and joe tries to keep them alive for as long as possible
ox writes joe a love letter every anniversary. ox doesn’t say much, but in those letters he pours his heart out, and joe treasures each one
each anniversary that passes is more special than the last because it’s one more year of memories, one more year they’ve gotten to be together, when there was a time they both thought they wouldn’t have any years at all
