The Beaver Creek Wildlife Area was opened after the sale by Bob Seibenthaler of 130 acres to Nature Conservancy in 1995. A one mile long composite boardwalk goes through the center of the fen. Eight feet of peat from sedges lies below the surface. The fen is fed by mineral rich springs oozing up from groundwater. Nearby Beaver Creek quickly drains the area. In early June the multiflora roses are at their peak.
