It has been a while since I've made a post about my hometown. As it is my birthday, it would really mean a lot to me if y'all could share this post with the community fund link.

For those of you who don't know, in May my hometown got destroyed by an EF4 tornado. This tornado now holds the record for the fasted recorded wind speeds in history (not a record we like to see broken).

The cleanup efforts are mostly finished. Now, they are mostly needing money to help rebuild homes and businesses as well as making up for the crops that our local farmers lost in the storm.

Those are pictures taken in town shortly after the tornado hit.

If you yourself cannot donate, it would really mean a lot of you could reblog this post to hopefully circulate it to some people who can.

So the Greenfield tornado, at 309mph is now the most powerful tornado in recorded history by minimum possible windspeed.

Maximum windspeed it's still beaten by the 2013 El Reno tornado and the 1999 Bridge Creek-Moore tornado, but it's solidly in the top three.

It's still at a prelimenary EF4 rating, which hasn't been finalized, but the EF scale doesn't always correlate with windspeed, since it's a damage scale.

Either way it was a scary looking beast that made wind turbines crumple even though the main funnel was half a mile away from them.
