So for your God Janus Paladin Virgil au, how does the kiss a day work?

Cause all I can imagine is like, day 1 of knowing this guy the rest of the sides see him kiss this ethereal being that then just leaves, then Virgil goes about business as usual-

Hi! Welcome to my favorite mechanic of this au!

Virgil constantly pushes off and procrastinates giving Janus his kiss until its as close to midnight as Janus will allow without taking matters into his own hands. Virgil's okay with it as long as the others are asleep and Virgil is the one keeping watch because he's embarrassed and does not want to deal with the twins knowing literally anything about this.

Janus, meanwhile, cares only enough to know this is something that Virgil is passionate about so he plays along. He hangs out with the others as a snake, and Virgil allows everyone to believe that Janus is his familiar/pet through the power of just never correcting them. They have no clue for the LONGEST time that Janus is actually an Ancient Evil Eldritch God that was sealed away for all eternity.

And of course its Remus who figures it out first.

what is the DLB AU about?

really I am curious about any and all of your AUs but Virgil and Remus fighting for Janus' attention is what I'm most 👀👀👀 about

I'm incredibly honored that you asked!! The DLB au is a dark comedy psychological thriller created by both me and @theokusgallery! Short for "Dead Level Best", the story actually follows disillusioned Police Officer Remus Estrada after he catches the attention of Mob Prince Janus Ekans, who decides to make him into Janus's newest bodyguard, via brainwashing/conditioning/manipulation after faking Remus's death.

The consequence of this is that Remus gets horribly jealous protective of Janus (like a good guard dog) and therefore has an incredible amount of issues with the fact that Janus is interested in one of the cleaners he employs specifically to clean up dead bodies. Virgil is supposed to get a paycheck for this and every day he gets more certain that he's going to get put in a body bag, but hey, he kissed back. This is fine. Everything is fine. ((Janus actually enjoys them fighting over him because he likes being the center of attention.))

We don't have anything written for this au yet! Just some art so stay tuned as we put the pieces together! :D There's a whole bunch more to come.

So I did not realize that Dead Level Best was a dark story, gonna be honest with ya- I thought it was just a dark comedy-

Lol, Dark Comedy still requires the Dark part, so sometimes we are going to focus on that. The comedy part rests in how the characters interact and impact with each other, which we haven't revealed much on yet! Some details aren't final, but so far we've got a cast of:

-The only half decent police officer who willingly lets himself be brainwashed into becoming a feral mob hitman and bites on command

-His twin brother, also a police officer, who is being paid thousands of dollars against his will and can't seem to romance someone not in the mob

-a son of a rival mob family who spends all year plotting 45 step plans to kill his family while working for the enemy

-the owner of a restaurant that is a mob front who engages in psychological warfare for fun

-an informant who's a disgustingly doting father but can't remember the name of his son's mother even at gun point

-the cleaner who spends his nights cleaning up crime scenes, and his days in college classes and has maybe slept for ten minutes this whole week and doesn't expect to make it to his next birthday

-Janus Ekans

Hi!!! I recently stumbled upon your Deja Vu AU and started reading it because I was bored and in desperate need of a new fanfic to read. I’m about halfway through the currently released chapters and just wanted to yap for a few seconds because I have a bunch of thoughts about it

First of all, I love Deja Vu Remus. I want to give him little platonic forehead kisses because he is amazing and does not deserve the stuff he’s going through 😔😔😔

Second of all, I love Remus and Janus being gay and fighting the government. Their interactions bring me such joy and whimsy

Third of all, I want to fight Roman :)

I'm so super glad that you've been enjoying my superheroes and super villains au. Janus and Remus getting to be gay and fight the government was literally the whole point of the story. Them getting to punch Roman in the face several times is just an added bonus now. And making you want to fight Roman means that I did my author-y job right 🫡 One day we are going to get that dickwad (Roman) to re-evaluate himself, but today is not the day and tomorrow is not looking so good.

i know it's a bit of an older fic, but i've never gathered the courage to make a comment, so i just wanted to say: your fic "glitters like gold" is honestly one of my most favorite fics ever. i reread it at least once a month, minimum. it's just so brilliantly done, and i'm so obsessed with it

😍😍Hi!!! Oh my god!! I'm so honored!! Glitters Like Gold is honestly on of my favorite of my fics, just because I think I did a good job of showing each of the characters quirks and skills in a one-shot of all things. We need more fics where Remus is a chaotic genius, in my opinion.

Also that fic shaped a lot of how I write the twins now. I think that was the first time I really managed to fit their banter in the story. And then Roman spending the entire time distracted by Janus because he's gay and an appreciator of art: really it doesn't get more fun than writing Roman very fucking clearly missing the warning signs because Janus smiled at him.

I'm glad that my silly conmen story has been a source of entertainment for you more than once!!

so I was rereading some of your old asks. Remus in the alien AU was in love with Janus? :'(((

SAHFDKJDHS yeah! Poor baby, forever destined to be second choices for everything. Throwing himself into his relationships with reckless abandon, giving everything of himself for just scraps of affections, even when he knows that he's breaking his own heart by chasing after the deathworlder who's told him that he has someone else....

But don't worry. I have plans for him :) he's only miserable for the time being. He'll receive the love he deserves back :) Thank you for reading in the meantime though!

i just wanted to say i love deja vu i just read all of it and its so cool actually !!

Thank you so much! I am SO incredibly normal about Remus seeing the future. As you can tell. from the copious about of extremely fun and normal situations he gets into in Deja Vu. The story where nothing bad happens to him.
