Introducing the first member of High Tide’s elusive crew; Green Hoof!
Hoof is the first mate and ship’s technician, although more at home in the skies than at sea. The often-quiet and humble earth pony is a fairly disciplined marksman, too. Hoof is always the first one to look into repairs, but otherwise tends to keep to himself.
Definitely the closest crew member to High Tide as Tide was adopted into Hoof’s family at a young age, the two brothers grew up with three more siblings in the same remote, isolated harbour town in some forgotten frontier of Equestria. Hoof always held a deep passion for flying, and has always been very resentful for not having been born a pegasus. Hoof’s problem was an unspoken cause for depression for the stallion, and lead to High Tide promising his friend that he would get him in the skies some day.
High Tide would frequently slip out of the town and shirk his duties at the homestead to see the rest of Equestria, but because of Tide’s promise, he would always return to their home town, and when he set out for the last time, he made sure Hoof was coming with him. Within three days of their departure, the duo were in need of shelter, and one night they came across a barn belonging to some apple farmers, and hidden within the barn was an unfinished aircraft.
Hoof was enthralled; the miracle of flight was right infront of his very eyes and all it needed was repairs. The earth pony had poured over countless books on aviation and mechanics whenever he could find them back home, and immediately set to fixing up the contraption in the dead of night like it was something he had done a million times before. High Tide at least knew what the thing was, but couldn’t understand a single part of the mechanism. Of course, that didn’t stop him from staying by Hoof’s side the entire night.
The next morning, Green Hoof has his cutie mark; a propeller and a wrench.
See the first picture? That handsome horse was drawn by my fantastic guest artist, Chip; the mod of Zappy and McTrotty’s! The other two pictures were done by Compound, the same person who drew this!
