"Oh, Mr. Longbottom had neglected his earmuffs."
Greenhouse 3 and the end of the garden. December 2017.
WHY, JANE!? WHY!?
11-04-17: Greenhouse 1 (cool, shady house), Greenhouse 2 (hot house, gets sun all day), and preparation work for Greenhouse 3, which is to be a 6ftx4.5ft aluminium and polycarbonate lean-to greenhouse. Because of the existing concrete surface, it’ll be a lot further back than expected, extending past the wall of the coal shed, which means I’ll have to complete the back panel which would otherwise be the brickwork, using something like Correx. Between where the greenhouse door will be (about where the spade is) and the front of the coal shed, I plan to create a covered porch area, with gravel at the base, and clear plastic sheeting extending the greenhouse roof, providing further protection from rain for some of my hardier but still arid-climate plants. This location is well-sheltered from the wind, and it gets sun in the morning and early afternoon, then shade in the late afternoon/evening, which is a good balance for a lot of plants.
Greenhouse 3 (the overflow/non-display one). December 2017.
