We saw this movie on Friday and I was pleasantly surprised. I walked in the theater expecting to hate it but I didn’t. First of all, if you’re looking or hoping for a carbon copy of the 1974 Charles Bronson Death Wish, you’re going to be disappointed. This movie is very little like the ‘74 version aside from the lead characters name and the fact that his wife and daughter are attacked. That’s where the similarities end. Secondly, if you’re looking forward to seeing Bruce Willis in his usual bad ass, gun in each hand, hero from the start glory...again, you’re going to be real disappointed. The original was dark and gritty. This one has a few moments of levity that the ‘74 version did not. Although this movie isn’t classified as horror, Eli Roth did add a few nods to his usual blood soaked gore fests. You will definitely be able to see the man that brought us Cabin Fever, Hostel and Green Inferno. Overall, I feel like the movie was worth the price of admission. It was an emotional roller coaster in many ways but that just made it more relatable. I give it a solid 4 dark hearts. 🖤🖤🖤🖤 #deathwish #brucewillis #charlesbronson #movies #moviereview #eliroth @realeliroth #goodmovie #recommend #actionmovie #drama #horror #horrorlover #horrorfan #moviejunkie #goseeit #cabinfever #greeninferno #hostel #horrornerd #horrorfam #newrelease #myopinion
