"See all - hear all. Say GEC Television and radio" - poster issued by the General Electric Company, c 1955 by mikeyashworth Via Flickr: One of a series of adverts issued by the English GEC for their ranges of televisions and radios and produced for them by the ad agency Greenlys. It is a bold piece of work - showing a very 'comfortable' interior scene and even wearing a bow-tie! It is worth noting that at 69 guineas ( a guinea was often quoted for luxury goods and was equivalent to 21 shillings (£1.05)) TV sets were not cheap in the 1950s.
