After escaping the monstrous clutches of Gremauld, Berenger and friends, Angela and Roscoe, make their way through the sewers to the surface in Chief Inspector Fry’s car. What old friend does Karl nea
Exactly six years ago, my brother Mike and I decided to create a fictional audio play called 'The Meat Blockade' during the end of the first summer that we moved into our condo, or as we always lovingly called it, the 'Hennessy Movie Palace'. We both wanted to create a show with high quality cinematic-like sound design that could take your ears into another world full of fun and bizarre characters with a story that balanced on a mix between Monty Pythonesque absurdism and the dark surrealistic world of Franz Kafka.
Six years and eight episodes later, I think we did just that. This release coincides with Mike and I finally moving out of our 'Hennessy Movie Palace', so it's all been feeling a bit nostalgic this week. Not in a bad way at all, just being able to look back at all the ups and downs within the past six years has stirred up many memories. Mostly good ones.
So here it is... the eighth and final episode to Volume One of The Meat Blockade. I'd like to thank the following people for contributing and supporting the show: JJ Chalupnik, our mom Linda Hennessy, Andrew Bueker, Conrad Miszuk, Hanna Jones, Grace Ogesen, Claire Ogesen, Kimberly Aiello, Drew Leatham, Jack Chapman, Michael Zimmerlich, Sean Oliver, Cody Hunt, Morgan Stehr, Keenan James, and the Sounds of the Mouth Men's Ensemble. Thank you guys for supplying your talented voices and/or always supporting our zany little show with infinite patience between episodes, means a lot to Mike and I.
We plan on taking 2020 off from Meat Blockade, but that doesn't mean we don't plan on coming to it, for Karl Berenger's story hasn't concluded yet. Volume One may be completed, but there's still a Volume Two in the horizon...
If it's been a while since you've last listened to The Meat Blockade, we recommend that you start with Episode One and work your way to the finale.
Enjoy.
