first off: snuffy is so cool man! i really appreciate exes who arent just “kill kill kill kill” (well i guess snuffy is in a sense, but it has a deeper reason) secondly: what drove you to make the little fella?
Calling Snuffy a 'little fella' when it's this tall is crackin me up a little
As for why I made Snuffy, it was a combination of things! Here comes the wall of text LOL.
SNUFFHOG is not my first EXE oc, that belongs to a little concept I've drawn a few times but haven't posted by the name of Sonic.EMU (short for emulator, pronounced like em-you ) who's a little Chinelin-esque classic Sonic who's whole shtick is being victim to a real-time corruptor emulator. EMU is still lock and key, as one day I'd like to make a video for it, akin to New Beginnings.
Snuffy was almost a response to that? I realised I had not made an exe who is the typical violent and gory kind, and I began to think back to the early 2010s, to the peak of creepypasta games. Especially though, I remembered the shock games. All of the shitty unity asset flips with screamers, all of the rumours of games that had Real Gore and the like, nevermind all the shock sites too.
The hook came when I thought about the concept of being a youtuber making a video essay on "The Forgotten Sonic Fan-Game That Had Real Gore" How would that video go? What would the game look like? What if it had the twist that the creator disappeared and is rumoured to be a gore victim themselves?
That landed me with my concept, an EXE who retalliated. An EXE who despite breaking free, does not break the cycle entirely. An EXE who's linked to a part of my teens that still haunts me now. I never played those shock games themselves, but they were SUCH a huge part of internet culture back then. I love to subvert tropes, I love to think outside the box, and that's SNUFFHOG to a T.
