Hawk MM-1

It's full name is the Hawk MM-1 Portable Multi-Round Projectile Launcher. Normally these are 40mm, but this one is a 37mm, avoiding the Destructive Device classification. This means this is not considered a firearm and can be bought like any regular flare launcher, pending your own local states laws. Capacity of 12 rounds, it is based on an older design. The MM-1 is most famously remembered for its use in Terminator 2: Judgement Day, but it has more recently appeared in Call of Duty Black Ops 2. (GRH)

Double Launcher

Made in China, used in Africa...

A Ugandan soldier with a rather interesting piece of equipment. He's holding a Chinese Type 87 35mm AGL (Automatic Grenade Launcher). These are fed with 6, 9, 12  or 15 round drums.

Not sure how it ended up over there, unless Uganda purchased them for their military. Note the heavy fluted barrel. It probably isn't meant for dissipating heat, rather to shave off as much weight as possible on it.

40mm Sub-caliber Insert

What looks like a normal 40mm grenade shell is actually a sub-caliber insert for a 20 gauge shotgun shell. Simply insert the shotgun shell into the 40mm look-alike and you can essentially turn an M79 or M203 into a shotgun. Why? It's a cheap alternative to use your 40mm launcher when high explosive rounds are extremely expensive and difficult to get. Would be kind of funny to use 6 of these in a Milkor revolving grenade launcher.

Mk19

A fully-automatic 40mm grenade launcher in use with the U.S military. Fairly old in its design, an updated version is the Mk 47. While the Mk 19 is widely used, the Mk 47 is in limited service, usually seen with special forces.

H&K GMG (A 40mm grenade machine gun produced by Heckler & Koch. Though it resembles the U.S MK19, the GMG is only fielded by U.S Special Forces, whereas the MK19 is fielded by nearly every other branch.)

Russian civilian & soldier... (This was taken during a training program for civilians to familiarize with military weapons. Note that the AGS-17 isn't loaded with it's drum.  The guy in the background who's out of focus is using an NSV heavy machine gun. How can you tell? The scope is a dead giveaway. That is the SPP 10P50 machine gun scope, shape is easy to recognize. I almost bought one a couple years ago with the stupid idea of putting onto my PSL. Anyway, the soldier seems to be happy training with a cute Russian blonde.)

In regards to my post "Thumper"

I'm all for educating and correcting mistakes I make and post but you sir are wrong. I know that is not a Thumper. The description/info refers to the M79 being called the Thumper and my curiosity in regards to whether the OFB 40mm makes the same noise.

First off, the grenade launcher pictured is not an M32. This is an M32.

The one in the picture is this. The OFB 40mm Multi-Grenade Launcher

It's clear to see the differences. The M32 is the U.S Military designation code for what is essentially the South African Milkor MGL-140.

The Indian Military produces a copy of the South African Milkor MGL Mk.1 and designates its the OFB 40mm.

So there we have. A quick crash course in Grenade Launcher 101. Oh and the grenade launcher in the gif below is an M203.
