Grendaline: The Water Of The Covenant

Grendaline is hard to overlook. 

We worship Her without knowing - swearing under our breath as we stare at a swamp laden with beauty and life, or wading laughing into the ocean to feel it curling around us, or tilting our head up to the rain, or drinking straight from the tap on a hot day.

Loyal though She is, Grendaline is no nurturing and gentle Giant. Her world is both the water of the womb and the terrible crushing certainty of sinking under the ocean. She has killed for us, and killed us as well. 

People speak of the ocean as cruel, but water as a whole they call gentle. I tell you now, neither of these things is wrong but neither are they true.

The ocean will cradle you to safety, a puddle on the bottom of your tub will send you crashing to your death. There is a terrible ferocity to Her, however.

However.

Powerful as it is, water is vital, and replenishing, and a kindness we often do nothing to deserve. We don’t have to deserve it - we earn it simply by living. She sees us, and She gifts us with this one thing so essential for our lives. She may not be kind always, but loyalty? That She can give us.

The loyalty She gives us is not always kind - it is, however, reliable. Water is not fickle; water is a constant. Ice might be frozen, but it is still water. Steam is still water. She shifts her form but She is, and always will be, there. Her loyalty is Her steadfast resolve to stay by our side, despite everything.

Grendaline is not always kind to us. But Grendaline loves us. And we need Her and we love Her, intentional or not.

yEAH SAME??? i mean like i wish at least like we get more coverage on their gang activities... and life... and everything............ you can do so much with them.......

at least give us a tie-in or spin-off centered on these three dorks please.......
