pbpb update!
WOW it’s been a hot minute. The last update was a year and a half ago?? ah, 2019. simpler times. hope everyone’s been staying safe and healthy.... SO. i’ll give anyone who’s still around the tl;dr: 1) with bright eyes and bright hopes, I hopped onto the querying train, and it was choo-choo full speed ahead. no bites. edited the manuscript again. got an agent offer. 2) i then proceeded to TURN THEM DOWN LOL (for various reasons) 3) for a long while was tossed by very dramatic waves of despair (did I make the wrong choice? have I thrown my life and work away? have i PEAKED?!). lots of tears were shed. dramatic weeping in the nights. 4) eventually came to the realization that I wanted this story published specifically thru traditional routes because of unhealthy and supervillain-esque reasons. so I’ve decided to turn from that dark path by posting the entirety of my story for free on wattpad LMAO 5) cue more tossing and turning so here we are! it occurs to me that i’ve bought into the worldview that if your work doesn’t generate income, then it has no worth. if you can’t make money off of it, it has no value. i think with this, im taking a sure but no less trepidatious step toward freeing myself from that belief. and also just, not turning into a sith. that’s kinda important too.
