De wapenstilstand die op 5 februari 1555 afgesloten werd met de Fransen houdt stand tot 7 juni 1556. Het huwelijk met de Engelse koningin is er te veel aan voor de Fransen. Filips gooit de troepen van Mary Tudor op tafel en doorbreekt het evenwicht tussen de partijen. De vreugdevuren zouden beter getemperd worden vrees ik. Twaalfduizend Engelsen worden naar de Nederlanden verscheept en ‘de oorlog…
