BY THE WAY since the AKC, Cattlemen’s Association, NRA, and all sorts of other industrial animal groups said “Vote no on 13″, are they going to donate time, money, and volunteer to place dogs? Because I suspect they will not, just like Grey2K and HSUS don’t show up to help the dogs at track closings.

A project I worked on in class last quarter

Kesi inspired me a lot with her passion towards providing unbiased information about racing greyhounds, so I thought I might put some misinformation to light

a little PSA I made about greyhound racing 

every time I make one of these, I’m reminded of how passionate kesi was of making it known that the greys in the US are well taken care of, and not abused...

Take a good look at these responses. These are only a handful of the people who supported Florida’s 13th amendment to ban greyhound racing. Half of them don’t care if these dogs or breed die (some in the sense of them being nothing more than couch ornaments and some in the sense of, quite literally, wanting all dog breeds to die), and the other half want to end all animal ownership as we know it (work, sport, pet).

Grey2K and HSUS’s supposed “plan”? Yeah, that’s it at the bottom. 90 days. 15,000+ dogs. $3 million put towards lobbying this bill, and not a single cent or safety net has been put toward helping the dogs. There was a reason the National Greyhound Association, UKC, etc. and 86 local greyhound rescue groups were against this. 4 local greyhound rescue groups were for this. Four. Let that sit in and ask yourself why.

If you voted yes, then I hope you’re prepared for the consequences.

P.S. If you don’t support dog sports or working dogs, then you’re not going to have a good time on my blog.

If you play the game RIFT, please do not support Grey2k by purchasing the “Greathound Troves.”  Whether you are pro, anti, or racing neutral, realize that NONE of the money Grey 2k receives through donations goes to helping greyhound adoption groups.  Grey2k is notorious for misleading and downright false information.  They regularly “steal” photos from people who own/work with greyhounds and make up stories about the dogs in the photos to spread more misinformation.  The vast bulk of the money they receive goes for lobbying and salaries. 

To support greyhound adoption, please instead donate your money, needed items, or volunteer time to greyhound adoption groups.

Wow.  Ok I am probably going on about this grey2k stuff too much but I keep learning more tidbits from the trainers. 

So apparently there was an adoption group there with some dogs too for an adoption event/promotion.  The grey2k people were holding up their signs about dogs being killed and raced to death and discarded etc, and the adoption group spoke up and said that’s not true, that they adopt out dogs right from the track there.  And Grey2k just responded by hurling insults and abuse at the adoption group.  Mind boggling.
