What’s one memory with a friend that you’re fond of?
Zeruel contemplated this question for some time before he even begun to think upon speaking. Though none would see it, there was a rare crack of a smile written upon features that had been hidden for a very long time. Turning to the one who asked the question he allowed the haft of his poleaxe to rest on the ground and he spoke.
“Most of my friends have long since passed, hunted down and captured by our brothers who still hold true to the Lion himself.“ His voice sounded far more distant than normal, as if lost in a memory he did not wish to lose. “It is hard to remember sometimes, after I emerged back into the galaxy at large. However, it was with a mortal in which I had many correspondences with. He would speak of old stories from Terra’s libraries and in earnest, I enjoyed listening to them. I would oft wonder what cultures and traditions would spin such tales. Amid the Crusade, I would seek this mortal out quite often, but there was one story he spoke of.“
“He spoke of it for days after he had read it to me.“ Zeruel paused. “However... I cannot remember its name... or who he even was...“
