Okay just as a little life update I FINALLY found a new job and my first few days have been good but unfortunately I won't actually be getting paid for a few more weeks. These last few months have totally drained my savings and its looking like I might not be able to make my rent this month soooo heads up that I might be opening some emergency comms in the next day or two
As a treat though heres a super watermarked preview of my ouaw charms that im hoping to put on my etsy store soon :) Kremy and Gid coming not pictured cause they're still just rough sketches at the moment
I stated watching Once Upon A Witchlight last week. I’m currently on Episode 25 so I’ll have to filter tags related to it for a bit to avoid spoilers but regardless This guy and his daughter are stuck in my mind.
(In the middle of the night Frost hears a disturbance outside his tent, he invites Gricko in.)

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It was the middle of the night, that’s all Frost could gather when he first awoke.
The tabaxi couldn’t identify exactly what had stirred him. He tried to scan the camp using his psionics, but his mind still swam with sleep.
Frost sniffed the air, keeping his eyes closed. There was the lingering scent of incense from the sticks he lit before his nighttime routine. Outside was the smell of damp earth and oak, with the husky smoke still fresh in the air. With this new gained focus, he pushed his mind outwards.
Gideon and Torbek were awake sitting at the fire, their thoughts were not frantic or readying for a fight, Torbek seemed to be in the middle of telling a story, Gideon was half-listening, but that was par for the course, the genasi’s mind was always racing. Reading it when he wasn’t facilitating a communication channel gave Frost a headache.
Kremy was asleep in his tent, not peculiar, he always took last shift to get a start on breakfast.
He was about to check on Twig when a physical cue caught his attention. Someone was fumbling with the latch of Frost’s tent.
His fur stood up, but he relaxed as soon as he recognized the sleep-addled mind right outside.
A flurry of goblin curses and drowsy slurred thoughts swept over Frost like a stream on stone. He pressed on.
Gricko? What are you doing?
There was a soft gasp outside, and the noises stopped.
Oh! Ey there Frosty…I was just uh…trying to get in my tent. But it seems it’s not mine…
Frost couldn’t help but smile to himself. The goblin’s thoughts were quiet, whispered, as if apologetic for waking Frost up.
Gricko, be honest. You know I can read minds.
….Fine. I knew it was your tent. I wasn’t trying to wake you, though…just wanted to come in and sleep beside you.
That’s all you had to say. Give me a moment.
Frost summoned his mage hand and made his way to the tent latch, he fumbled himself for a bit, though more focused, he was still half-asleep.
Eventually he got the lower corner open, and held the flap aloft, letting in distant firelight. It was soon eclipsed by a bed headed Goblin.
Gricko closed the flap behind him, and held his hand up expectantly. Frost sighed, and high-fived him with his mage hand.
Gricko chuckled and scurried over to Frost’s bedroll. Frost lifted the cover and Gricko sidled up to his side. Resting his head in the crook of Frost’s neck.
“Mm..you alwaysh smell like jashmine…”
Gricko mumbled, half his sentence lost in the stripes of Frost’s fur. Frost chuckled.
“And you always smell like the woods.” Frost purred, nuzzling into Gricko’s hair.
“You love it.”
“Of course I do. It’s home.”
Gricko curled up against his chest, pressing a kiss to amber fur. Frost purred unabashedly. Part sleepiness part the safety of being with Gricko.
Why were you up?
Jus’ one of those things…Hootsie rolled on top of me. She’s not as little as she used to be you know. I’m starting to wonder if I need a bigger tent…
Wouldn’t be a bad investment.
I did try and stay up with Gid an’ Torbek for a bit, but jus’ too tired…
As if to illustrate that point, Gricko’s hands, which had been occupied running through Frost’s fur, had begun to slow to a stop.
We can stop talking, I won’t argue we both need the sleep.
Awh, but I love the sound of your voice. It’s like a warm blanket…could you tell me a story?
Frost chuckled, nuzzling into Gricko’s hand, which had lazily found his cheek.
I’m not that good a storyteller…
Nonsense! You’re an amazing storyteller!!
Frost didn’t answer directly, but projected the feelings of skepticism present.
It could be yer grocery list, like I said…I just love your voice.
Frost thanked everything and everyone that he had fur which concealed his heated face. He sighed.
Back in the farming village I grew up in, when I was young, I was the fastest of my age.
Oh yeah?
Yes, I was always running around with my friends, we’d always race, from the field to a big larch tree which grew in the middle of town. I always got there first, and as a youth I was a bit of a show off, so I’d climb it and watch the rest come behind me from the highest branch I could get to.
Was it all tigers like you? Or were there a bunch of different Tabaxis? Tabax-eye?
I think it’s tabaxi regardless of plural or singular.
Oh! Like goose!
Yes, but I’ve heard you say “gooses” plenty of times.
Details- you’re getting off topic!
It was mostly tigers yes, but there was a family of snow leopards. Their daughter, Clove, was my age. She always came in second.
Right…because you were the fastest…
Right. I often got in trouble for being too rambunctious.
It’s hard to imagine…
I’m sure. But it’s true, let’s just say I was sent to my room often. I tended to ask a lot of questions when I didn’t understand exactly why I was doing something.
Heh, some things never change.
Aren’t you supposed to be trying to sleep?
Gricko giggled, this time out loud. Frost rolled his eyes, but more out of show than anything else. He could feel Gricko’s smile against his shoulder, and it was hard to be truly irritated.
Love you..Frosty.
I love you too, sleep well.
Only if you do it too….
And with that, Frost’s eyes fluttered shut once again.
