Departure Lounge (Site Theme) | Nonplus - "Planned Communities (The Gridskippers Remix)" An exclusive, extended (and slightly creepier) edit of the song "Planned Communities" by electronica artist Nonplus for use on the upcoming site for Gridskippers. The song was originally composed for "The Doll Underground", one of the many popular Eon McKai alt-pornography films. Though sharing little with it musically, the track (and it's sister track, Verkalerte) were inspired by the work of composer Arnold Schoenberg.
LINDSAY LOHAN TRANSFORMED | Dir. by Richard Phillips, which is featured in POST: PAVILION, and was created as a part of "Commercial Break"-- an upstart program of artists’ videos put together by Neville Wakefield for the opening festivities of the 54th Venice Biennale. Phillips, who is strictly a painter, has never directed a film before, but has approached his shoot with the tragic pop-culture icon as something akin to modern portraiture. Lindsay Lohan, whose once promising career has fallen by the way side after several run-ins with law, has become iconic of American trash-chic. She is one of the many influences for the central character Kristen Augerman, who will make her first appearance in Session 07: "Waterbaby".

"Though she would rather label herself 'tragic, freethinking and European', Rose is actually a mix of overindulgent, impulsive and frustrated. After running away from her college life to go on an ill-advised world tour, she finds herself inexorably tied to the social engineer known as "Vegas"... and sets her sights on becoming his protégé in the art of manipulation.
