My father is the one who introduced me to prayer beads when I was 12 and went to Europe for the first time. When I was 17 and went with my mother the only item he asked for was a set of prayer beads from Greece, because according to Chuck the Greeks made them best. Over the last five years I have used my father's prayer beads when I missed him the most. Not because I believe in any higher beings or powers, but because they were something unique to our relationship. Plain and simple they were my daddy's and didn't have anything to do with my religious trauma.
