Greg Stumbo the Lexingtonian
Greg Stumbo’s political machine is so powerful in Floyd County that he gets away with running for office for their district even though he actually lives in Lexington, where his youngest daughter attends school. He owns a house in Floyd County, which allows him to run for office for that district:
Stumbo, 57, lives in Lexington with his wife, a real estate agent with Keller Williams Bluegrass Realty, and their young daughter. He still owns a house in Floyd County and remains registered to vote there, so he is legally eligible to represent the 95th House district, 117 miles away.

Records show that Stumbo originally claimed to have purchased his current Lexington home for $1. (See "The Appearance Of Impropriety And Greg Stumbo," Page One, October 22, 2013.) After Page One broke the story about the $1-Deed, Stumbo filed a Deed of Correction:

Stumbo lived in the same neighborhood in Lexington for years before he moved to his current address, including when he filed his baseless lawsuit in Floyd County to punish the mother of his child for seeking child support. (Stumbo owned that property from July 7, 1997 to May 27, 2010.) Stumbo filed that suit to make sure it didn’t get thrown out immediately and to maximize the inconvenience the mother of his child would have to face to defend against the suit.
