Black Star Sapphire Mostly Black | Slightly White
Brush off those behelits because GriffGuts Weekend is back for 2025! This drop dead gorgeous graphic is all thanks to the one and only, @gyodragon. Thank you for bringing this year's prompts to life, Gyo!
Dates:
October 24-26
What's Allowed:
Any site it perfectly fine! This blog will be the main posting site for all weekend related content so if you want to use a different platform for posting your art or edits, be sure to either send your art through direct messaging to this blog or @ofdemonsandangels. As always, don't forget to tag all content with #griffgutsweekend2025 or @ us directly so we'll be able to see it!
Prompts:
Like last year, this year's prompts will be related to symbolism, more specifically, the symbolism of gemstones! Each day of this event will coincide with a gemstone that we think represent a portion of Guts and Griffith's relationship. Like previous years, each prompt can be stretched as much as possible for your submission to fit the theme, but if you need a little help, here's what each gemstone represents:
Day 1 | Sapphire: truth and divinity
Day 2 | Garnet: love and vitality
Day 3 | Opal: hope
Questions?
Please direct all additional questions to our inbox! If you'd like a little more guidance with these prompts, feel free to ask us! We're more than willing to help.
Until then strugglers!

I wanted to do more but brain isn't braining. May try to do them later.

Summary: The reel playing inside Griffith’s head as Guts says goodbye and drives Griffith to destroy his dream once and for all.
(Explicit, Graphic Depictions Of Violence: Dead Dove Do Not Eat, for @griffgutsweekend)
Snippet:
The snow crunches under your knees as your body sinks into the fresh snow; the sound of your sword snapping reverberates in the empty cathedral of your chest. Your fingers curl around your wrist, the white ruffles scratching the outside of your hand.
“Goodbye,” he says, and that one word presses the wound down to cleave your frozen heart in two as the chill starts to settle in your bones, as those renegade boots start their pilgrimage in the wrong direction.
The memories flash through your mind like dying light through stained glass, as if running through the didactic memories might give you a way to anchor him until the veil is lifted.

this is my contribution to #griffgutsweekend2025 @griffgutsweekend Day 3: Opal

character study, one shot
summary:
however, as his vision blurs and distorts, icy waves cascading down a pale face the last image his mind fights to cling to in order to keep the fiery spirit alive, he’s reminded of something, a distant thing, faraway, and yet, achingly vivid.
he’s reminded of a long ago dream.
cosmic understanding (a leftover concept for sapphire that I didn't end up using)
