Griffin's lore: the witch of stars✨️

- Griffin Anubis Morningstar was born on August 26th in Whisperia. Her parents are Liliss Morningstar and Amos Anubis and she has a great magical lineage from both sides. She was raised by her dad Amos who simply adored her, totally a daddy's girl. She had a happy childhood, full of love and endless support. She was a brilliant child from the starts, gifted with intellect and focus. Her thirst for knowledge mixed well with her naturally competitive attitude, making her the ultimate academic weapon. Griffin knows she is clever and she will do anything to push her limits and become even better, she will work for it. Her parents are proud✨️Workhaolic bitch since birth✨️

-Liliss never played a maternal role, she was more of a mentor for little Griffin, they saw each others every two weeks, when Liliss would teach her the basics of magic. Liliss was deeply involved in her magical education and academic life, it was her idea to send an angry teen Griffin to Cloudtower, seeing it as a chance for growth.

- Griffin went to Cloudtower. At first, she felt like a fish out of water, why was a girl from Whisperia, the planet of witches, supposed to go to Cloudtower? Her classmates were such losers, she was above them. She was a mean girl plus an academic weapon, what did she have to spare with these idiotic witches? After she almost got kicked out, she had a change of heart and eventually found the entire Cloudtower experience to be very formative and eye opening.

-After graduating Cloudtower, she spent almost ten years travelling all around the Dimension, looking for every way to better her powers. She studied a lot, the former teen mean girl was now drowning in books and living on instant coffee, cigs and sheer willpower. She met new people and got in contact with different realities where witches don't have an easy life and are seen as a scourge, planets where being a witch is something to be ashamed of.

-After she was done with travelling all around the Dimension and was satisfied with her power growth, she got back to Whisperia and joined the Coven. It was time to make a name for herself and to crown her witch education, studying under the top tier witches: the Ancestors. She went through the selection process, succefully nailing all the different trials and blowing the competition away. The Ancestors were impressed, the purple haired witch was ruthless and sharp minded. Griffin was happy to get in, ready to crawl her way on top, everything was going to be perfect. Then she got paired with Valtor.

- At first, Valtor and her didn’t get along in the slightest, they didn’t match at all, Griffin hated him and he hated her back, utter loathing, total detestation. (He liked her legs though.)

Their rooms were adiacent at the same floor, and this made it even worst. Their partnership was a fucking mess, all the other Coven members were fed up with their antics and couldn't believe how those two even got paired to begin with. All the hate eventually turned into something more and in a couple of years they were the Coven's cutting edge. Excellency at its finest.

-She left the Coven after more than a decade. It wasn’t an easy choice, sometimes she regrets what she did. She left a big piece of her life behind, but there were so many factors playing a role in her "escape" that she couldn't just ignore. She didn’t want to be part of a genocide, she just couldn't fanthom erasing an entire planet from existence, all that violence was unnecessary to her: she was a witch, not a monster. She couldn't care less about power at this point if it came with this. Another reason? ... maybe a child growing inside her womb.

-After the fall of Domino and the leading trial, Griffin tried to craft a completly different image of herself. She didn’t want to be associated to the Coven and her past anymore, hence the look change. She started applying heavy make up and never letting down her hair in fear of being recognized. The dangerously clever Coven's strategist was no more, welcome to the strict and stern headmistress of Cloudtower.

-Her students are terribly curious of who she is and her past but they can't find any info. It's almost like she is a powerful witch who came out of nowhere and one day decided to become headmisstress. What are her feats? Her resume? All clouded in shadows.

-She was supposed to end up in Omega alongside Valtor. Somehow thanks to her wits, her aid to the Company of Light and the biggest web of lies ever crafted, she evaded her sentence and had the chance to build a new life. The Lightrock Council had her spend 2 years in Lightrock and then gave her the position of professor of astrology and divination at Cloudtower. She hated her job at first, but she found its perks and eventually climbed up the ladder and became headmisstress. Her newfound "freedom" had its downside: she's basically on probation for life. She's strictly controlled by the Council, has to accepts their every whims, she can't leave Magix as she pleases nor use her full magic potential, and she always has to be at her "best" behaviour. It's no shock, the Council hates her guts and they are happy they have control over a former Coven member now. Especially that Coven member.

The irony is not lost on me that I made this blog MOSTLY to hornypost about my porn AU's and then I drop the driest most technical lore because I am not unaffected by worldbuilder's syndrome.

The griffins retaining some level of wishcraft is important because that's how the griffins are able to interbreed with other species. If they just wish hard enough, they can knock up ANYTHING.

This is something I retained from the original because I really really want to make Siffrin eggnant. So the griffins, when they determine their mate, are almost guaranteed to knock up their partner on the first few matings, because they wish for it to succeed.

Unfortunately wishcraft is an imperfect art, particularly with weaker rituals like griffins use, so while it definitely succeeds in impregnating the partner every time, the eggs are not usually viable when wishcraft is involved.

The tiny griffins lay particularly small eggs; so when poor Siffrin gets knocked up with eggs, they're hardly going to notice it at first.

Interspecies pregnancy is a difficult thing; unlike real birds, griffins tend to be gravid with their eggs--that is, they retain the eggs until they are ready to lay the entire clutch.

Griffins mating with griffins have small clutches because of this, and tiny eggs. However, griffins mating with something larger, like, say, a human are going to be simply delighted by how large their clutches can get.

Loop, in particular, is smarter than other griffins, and eventually will start to wish for the eggs to be bigger, so while Siffrin's first clutch is going to be so small as to be able to just slip out by themselves with hardly a notice, the next ones are going to be noticeably larger.

Griffin overblot concept

Remember, these are concepts, they are not the final product and are subject to change on my terms.

Griffin has a high chance of overbloting, but I don’t think that I’ll make it happen. They carry a lot of childhood trauma with them from ‘The Arena’ that they don't really like to talk about, the only person who does really know about everything is Jack, but I do have a plan of them opening up to Ruggie and Leona later on when I start actually writing and making some serious comics. I wanted a focus on their past and sort of how they were forced to do what they had to do for survival. The chains around their neck, wrists, and ankles are made of ink and are basically digging into them to show the pain that they remember vividly from ‘The Arena’. At this point Griffin is probably extremely feral, they are also very much likely using their unique magic ‘Caged Beast’. The only reason that I can think of that Griffin would overblot, is if he started to have vivid nightmares of his time in ‘the arena’ and refused to tell anyone about them, causing a slow build up of guilt, sadness, and tiredness that would cause them to break and overblot.

More Griffin AU musings, this one is about griffins, griffin products, and what they were used for historically. Contains nsfw content below the readmore.

All over the world, different cultures found the various mythical creatures as they seemingly popped out of nowhere, and discovered their various uses.

From their wishcraft origins, griffins were steeped in Craft energy, and since they could (mostly) not use Craft of their own, all of the normal Craft energy that they would build up over their lives would be expelled in specific ways.

Some but not all of the griffins also learned to use a version of Wish Craft, either from their own prior knowledge, or watching humans and copying their purposeful rituals, to a variety of effects, as well.

Griffin feathers, the most common griffin byproduct, are powerful Craft enhancers, and wearing them can help to enhance one's natural Crafting ability.

In-tact feathers are always best for this, but damaged feathers, very old feathers, or excess if one has such a thing, can be ground down to a rough powder that can be added to a variety of materials.

Griffin bones, however, serve as a much stronger variant of Craft enhancer, and they can be used to form things directly. Baubles of griffin bone, knife hilts and other things were made to take advantage of the naturally Craft enhancing material, though they were very light and hollow.

The fragile bones could also be ground into a powder, not unlike the feathers, and for a time 'griffin steel' was made by adding the bone powder to iron to 'strengthen' it in the forging. Aside from making steel via their tasty, tasty carbon, it imbued the metal with a less effective Craft Enhancement. Very popular with Scissors types!

Claws and beaks were often gathered and believed to enhance Scissors-type Craft, and griffin tails were often used as good luck ornaments, though they didn't have any particular abilities.

Griffins only shed about as much fur as a normal domestic cat, but their fur could be felted into a material that was very receptive to Craft enhancements.

Griffin eggs are often unviable, and they tend to lay large clutches, so while they don't have particularly strong Craft in them, they are quite hearty and filling for those willing to eat them.

It's the fluids that were of the most interest, and people who were hunting or keeping griffins were eager to use all of them.

Griffin blood is a striking color, and was most often used to mix a special long-lasting ink. Prized by Paper Craft users, it made a noticeable difference in finesse of the Crafter. Only very, very old books have it now, but it resists aging, and is a lovely rusty hue.

Blood was also used to strengthen potions, though it was a vile concoction and a predecessor to the modern (and far more effective) potions of today.

While difficult to gather, griffin tears provided a resistance to Craft, but they were so rare as to be almost useless. It did spark endless stories across multiple cultures that if you could tell a griffin about a Crafted curse, and make it cry, it could break your curse for you.

And of course, human ingenuity could not leave the other fluids undiscovered as well.

Griffin males 'musk', or semen, has a real and affective aphrodisiac affect. An adaptation that came about from their wishes, its original intent was to allow a griffin to make a mate more receptive to advances, but eventually became a normal part of griffin territory-marking and claiming.

Griffin musk is extremely expensive and became a standby of the nobility. Often mixed into perfumes, it is a much-desired commodity that, though rarer in the modern day, still can be found, if you have enough coin for it.

When mixed, musk from multiple griffins can increase the potency of it, though extended contact with musk or musk from multiple sources can lead to unrestrained behavior and illness. A 'pseudo-heat' can be forced in humans with multiple strong sources of musk, which makes the person in question extremely sexually receptive, constantly aroused, unsatisfied, and with extremely lowered inhibitions. These are always followed with bouts of illness.

Griffin musk perfume, for this reason, is usually sold diluted. Obtaining undiluted griffin musk is almost unheard of in modern times.

(It is a myth that griffin musk only works on women; it works on anyone that is able to smell it and they respond differently as individuals. Someone with a low or nonexistant libido may instead suffer physical discomfort, as their body is not very compatible with the musk.)

Female griffins, on the other hand produce a very strong fluid during their season that is the counterpoint for the musk. It has similar aphrodisiac affects, but rather than make the one affected unsatisfied with their pleasure, it makes one delirious.

It is also known to increase the virility of someone thus affected by it. Typically excreted by a female griffin to assure that a mating will be successful, it affects more than just griffins.

Griffin slick therefore has a reputation of being a fertility enhancer as well as a hedonistic pleasure. The euphoric high experienced while under its affects makes it the most expensive and elusive materials available.

Griffin AU musings while I work on the next chapter of it under the readmore! I haven't decided how I'm going to do the tagging yet, so I'm going to hide content under readmores

While my fic is inspired by another fic, and I've read a lot of the original author's thoughts and plans in the discord server it was nestled away in, I have moved away from some of it just because I took the premise and not much else from the original fic. SO!

Stuff that doesn't really affect the actual content of the fic, but rattled around my brain obsessively anyways, and would be nice to put down on paper:

What's up with the Griffins? Why are they so smart?? Griffins have 'always existed' as far as anyone in the modern day are concerned, as well as other mythical creatures, but the truth of the matter is, somewhere around 200ish years ago, several someones made a very powerful wish that didn't quite get answered in the way they wanted. They wished to escape the circumstances of their lives, most of them envying the seemingly easier lives of animals (after all, who has not looked at their pet and gone 'I wish my life was as simple as a dog's'?), and when the wish was granted, it changed them into animal forms, many of which were griffins! The wish stuck around for a while, though, and across the world people who wished for an escape a little too hard ended up transforming into various mythical creatures, whether they actually wanted to or not. There are native mythical creatures to every country, and they are not strictly from any one place. They all retained their sentience, and the Craft that changed them infused their new forms, but few of them regained the ability to Craft again seriously. These original griffins and their children still retained a level of sentience, but due to the fact that they appeared to be animals, often ended up fleeing civilization. After a few generations, they never lost their sentience, but their instincts intensified, and they shied away from living together in large numbers. A griffin raised among humans can learn the human spoken language very much as a child does, and a griffin that spends significant time with humans can eventually learn to comprehend even complex communication. Griffins are impossible to keep captive for this very reason; they are intelligent enough to outsmart any cage or trap that is made to fool an animal, and they will, eventually, learn to understand enough speech to let themselves free. This is unfortunate for people that want to keep them captive, who have realized that these griffins are dripping with Craft energy. Feathers, claws, beaks, bones, are all little portable Craft batteries, and for a time they were hunted for the valuable ingredients that they provided. (As were other mythical creatures) For about as long as griffins have existed, people have been trying, and failing, to figure out how to domesticate griffins.

They arrrreeeeeeee!!! They aren't the only thing though ;)

Loop is going to wish to be bigger! To become the ideal mate for their Stardust! But the Universe is like, well, they're already the ideal mate at their size, and gets a little confused. All the enbiggening juice goes to their dick.

Siffrin doesn't realize at first, but definitely figures out at some point that Loop's cock is getting larger and thicker, and so are the eggs. The larger the eggs get, the longer they take to gestate, too~.

So Sif gets to go from barely showing at all to eventually visibly round and 'pregnant' with eggs for longer and longer each time.
