“I first heard about an opportunity at the Commonwealth Games through the School of Medicine. I knew this was a going to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I would regret it if I missed out. It has definitely been a unique experience. I worked mostly in the Athlete's Village Polyclinic at the front desk with awesome hospital and clinic receptionists. I shadowed emergency doctors, sports physicians and general practitioners and spent time learning how to read x-rays and CT scans from radiologists. I was also directly involved in the care of athletes and team officials. It was great to be able to learn from all these different specialities in the one place. I’ve also had the opportunity to meet Medical Commissioners from around the world at the Games Family Hotel and be a part of the anti-doping team.  It was the people I met during these weeks that made my experience particularly special!
