“No! That’s not- I was tryin’ to-,” David bristles before he cuts himself off.
He groans deep in the back of his throat, his free hand rising to press his fingers to his forehead. His eyes scrunch closed in frustration.
Okay, so maybe he does whine a lot but frankly he’s got a lot of reason to complain. At this moment that’s not what is happening. David has noticed something out of the ordinary with Minami lately, something that makes him worry about her. So, here's his attempt to bring up that concern. He shouldn’t be surprised by the assumption he’s talking about himself and then the goading into a kind of healing factor kill game with an insult thrown in.

“Fuck me for carin’, I guess,” he grumbles, shoulders hunching and hands getting shoved into the pockets of his pants. He goes silent for a moment, jaw working in its sockets as his gaze slides towards her.
“ … Besides,” he finally says, something smug entering his tone. “I’d win that race. My healin’ factor is better than yours, Mini.”
