𝙰𝚃 𝙵𝙸𝚁𝚂𝚃, 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙵𝙰𝙴 𝙸𝚂 𝙲𝙾𝙽𝚅𝙸𝙽𝙲𝙴𝙳 𝚃𝙷𝙰𝚃 𝚂𝙷𝙴'𝚂 𝙷𝙴𝙰𝚁𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝚃𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙶𝚂. it’s only when she takes a second look at the princess that she realises that she didn’t mishear her at all. ❛ why would you want to put yourself through something like that? ❜ mal isn’t judging her, not in the slightest. it’s more surprise than anything else, which is written all over her face. oh, how this part of the story has taken a turn.

Things    had    changed    so    much    for    Mal    since    they    first    stepped    foot    in    Auradon    that    she    really    didn't    have    the    proper    opportunity    to    say    things    that    she    should    have    said.    Things    she    should    have    done.    It    was    all,    for    the    most    part,    a    blur.    Not    that    it    was    an    excuse,    but    it    was    definitely    something.    Sitting    down    with    Evie    in    her    dining    room,    Mal    puffed    her    cheeks    out    in        exhaustion.    “I    still    can’t    help    but    think    that    I    don’t    deserve    any    of    this    --    any    of    you.”    She    spoke    while    staring    into    the    swirling    tea    in    her    mug.    “I’ve    done    horrible    things    and    been    such    a    horrible    person    that    I    feel    like    that    defines    me,    even    now.    Like,    I    can’t    do    enough    good    to    outweigh    how    I’ve    acted    and    what    I’ve    done.    Not    to    you    --    not    to    Carlos.    Audrey...    Ben.    All    of    you.    Even    Uma.    Even    though    the    barrier    is    down,    I    feel    like    I    should    be    back    on    the    isle    where    I    belong.”
