The first day you had met the Winchesters had been so normal.
It was a rather quiet day at your job. You own an herb and tea shop just like your favorite aunt. You loved the smell of spices and your aunt had worked hard to teach you how to be an apothecary.
You’re humming and organizing a special selection of Wesen-only reagents when you hear the bell ring on the front door. You perk up and gently rest the jars on the shelf before climbing down your step ladder. You frown softly as you sniff the air, you can smell stale blood.
You turn a corner around a spice-shelf and are finally in direct view of the front desk. You bite your lip gently as you spot two men standing before your desk. They’re both very tall and muscular but they don’t seem to smell hostile besides the blood. You decide to swallow down your fear and head behind the desk to help them.
“Morning, Gentlemen.” You greet them pleasantly, “How may I help you today?”

They were stuck in some tiny town just outside Portland, Oregon. It had been a long night that had turned into a long morning for the Winchesters. They were both exhausted and wanted to go back to their hotel to pass out but couldn’t yet. They were completely out of supplies for a spell and needed them soon.
It had been a blessing that Sam had spotted a tiny herb shop on their drive through the tiny town the night before. The boys were hoping that it would have at least some of the supplies they needed. Cas was currently nowhere to be found so they couldn’t ask him to fetch anything so this tea shop would have to do.
Dean drove the Impala up to the curb outside the shop and put her into park. He huffed and slumped back into his seat, casting a glance at his dozing brother in the passenger’s seat. The hunt was slow-going and last night had not really ended well.
Both brothers were horridly sore and banged up. They were unsure what they were hunting but it seemed to be some sort of shifter that had not reacted to silver. They were both at a loss and the thing had gotten away before they could even gank it. Now all Dean cared about was getting the massive bite on Sam’s arm cleaned up.
With a tired grunt, the eldest Winchester reached across the seat and gently shook his brother’s shoulder. Sam gasped and jerked awake on instinct, instantly calming once he saw it was just Dean. Too tired to speak, Dean nodded towards the shop and both brothers stiffly got out of the car.
Dean locked up and headed inside with Sam. Both brothers blinked in wonder as they entered the tea shop, the bell on the door ringing. It was small but extremely well stocked. They can’t help looking about in awe as they step up to the counter.
“Morning, Gentlemen.” Their attention is drawn to the pleasant voice. They both smile, though Dean’s is more of a leer, as they spot the shopkeeper. They’re small but cute, just like the rest of the shop, “How may I help you today?”
“Oh, good morning.” Sam greets you sweetly, his instant charm making you smile despite the wary glint Dean can see in your eye, “We were wondering if maybe you had some very rare herbs we’re looking for.”
“Well, let’s see, shall we?” You reply as you smooth out your apothecary smock, “And if I don’t, I’m sure my aunt will at her shop.” Both boys perk up at the sound of this. Two herb shops are better than one.
Dean watches you curiously as you lean over the counter to look at the list Sam has spread out on the counter top. He looks in interest as your gaze subtly flickers between both men while you steadily go over the list. He finds himself wondering why you’re so scared of them. There’s no blood splatter today and their wanted posters have been out of circulation for a while now.
“You’re in luck, boys!” You pipe up cutely as you gently snatch up the list, “I have all of these. Just let me grab them for you.” You have a little bounce to your step as you walk around the counter to the sales floor. You hum softly as you bustle about gathering their supplies. Both men seem rather gentle and polite so you’re not feeling as worried anymore.
“Alrighty, just give me a sec.” You tell them as you bring the jars to the counter and begin to measure out the amounts. The taller man is smiling at you and you swear the shorter one is checking you out. You flush slightly as you hold out their bagged reagents.
“Thank you very much.” The tall one says as he reaches forward. You frown as the movement makes him wince in pain. The smell of blood is no longer stale but fresh.
“Wait, you’re hurt.” You gasp and reach out, gently grasping his wrist to stop him as he grabs the supplies. The movement makes the smaller man stiffen defensively but the tall one that you’re holding doesn’t seem concerned.
“He’s fine.” Dean growls softly, suddenly feeling wary himself. He wants to know how you knew that Sam was hurt besides the wince.
“Please, let me help. I’m a trained apothecary.” You tell them softly. You may be a bit scared of them but they are your customers and one is hurt. You need to help.
“Thank you, that’d be wonderful.” Sam tiredly thanks you and Dean looks a little shocked. You smile brightly and let go of him as you walk around the counter.
You tell them to follow you to the back. You’re pretty sure you have everything to care for whatever’s wrong. You just hope they’re as nice as they seem.

Rosalee yawned loudly as she tiredly rubbed her eyes and scrubbed the front counter of the spice shop. She began to hum as she worked, giggling softly as Monroe’s arms slipped around her from behind. She turned her head to allow him to steal a kiss just as the phone rang.
Sighing, the two broke apart as Rosalee reached for the phone. She playfully slapped Monroe’s hand away as he moved his hands to tickle her.
“Spice and Tea. How can I help you?” She greets with a giggle.
“Hi, Aunt Rosalee!”
“{Y/n}, how nice to hear from you.”
“You too, Aunty Lee. Unm, can I ask you a question?”
“Sure, what’s up, Kiddo?” You really have no idea why she calls you ‘kiddo’ still, you are barely younger than she is!
“Derger’s Wart is good for cleaning Skalengeck bites right?” Rosalee’s eyes widen in horror at the question.
“Yes, it is.”
“Thanks, Aunty Lee! Call you later!”
“{Y/n} are you oka-?!” Rosalee’s cut off as you suddenly hang up the phone. She’s gulping in worried breaths as she freezes. Worried, Monroe wraps his arms tighter.
“Rosalee, what’s wrong?”
“Monroe, call Nick. I think {Y/n} might be in trouble!”
...You had a lousy first day at school and Nick tries to cheer you up.

A/n: My first day back at school and this is what you all get. ^^’
Timing: Before all the current craziness.

You can’t help the irritated grumble that escapes you as the elevator’s door opens out into the main room of your family’s new home. You’re exhausted and sore, both physically and emotionally. It was the first day of the new semester at your junior college and it had not been a fun one. You were only registered for one of your classes and barely scraped onto the waitlists of your remaining ones.
With a huffing growl, you let your heavy backpack fall to the hard floor. Seriously, what kind of teacher makes you buy your textbooks the very first day?! You desperately try not to dwell too much on this as you turn and walk into the tiny kitchen.
“Rough day, Kiddo?” Nick’s sudden voice makes you jump as you turn towards the kitchen table. You see him sitting there with a tired smile as he feeds Kelly. You hadn’t even realized he was home early.
It was so strange to have a dad now. You had lived on the street for so long before he had showed up to question you one day as a possible witness then full on adopted you because you were still a minor back them. He took good care of you, taught you to help him and his Wesen friends, and you found you hadn’t wanted to leave once you were of legal age.
“Yeah. it really sucked.” You grumble tiredly as you grab some weird-looking food Adalind made out of the fridge. You give it a critical look before sulkily slinking to the table to sit across from the Grimm.
“Sorry to hear that, {Y/n}.” He sounds just as sincere as always. You had never met anyone who wore their heart on their sleeve so easily before meeting him.
You shrug unhappily and scoop up a spoonful of the weird food on your plate. Did that woman even know how to cook? You grimace at the taste and startle slightly when Nick clears his throat to get your attention.
You jerk your head up and suddenly gag on your food and your laughter at the sight of him. He’s looking at you all solemn with a spoon stuck to his nose. His serious expression only lasts a second before his scruffy face brightens up into a grin as you laugh harder. It doesn’t take long for him to join you as Kelly starts giggling as well.
...You and Nick spend a long night studying Grimm lore.

“You sure you’re okay with this?” Nick asks you softly as he sits down at the desk with a Grimm book. You’re laying on the floor on your stomach with your own book and playfully kicking your legs. You smile softly at him and nod.
“Course, Nick. I got the day off tomorrow, why shouldn’t I spend the night helping out my favorite Grimm?” Your words move a smile to his lips as he tries to hide his joy by looking through his book. He’s always scared his world will scare you off but you’re pretty sure he’s stuck with you.
To prove your point, you get up from your place on the rug and stretch. You walk over to the coffeemaker and set up a new mug of the hot liquid for him. You wrinkle your nose at the bitter, hated smell but still take the mug to him. He looks up from his book in surprise as you move to sit on his lap.
“Ever see one of these?” You ask softly as you lean back against his strong chest and he takes the coffee from you. You’re pointing at the wessen on the current page, you can’t even begin to say it’s German name, and he wrinkles his nose.
“No, can’t say I have.” He grins smoothly at you and kisses your cheek with coffee-warmed lips, “Kinda glad too. Doesn’t really look like a shiny happy person.” You can’t help the snort of laughter at your husband’s words. You’re shaking your head before leaning up to kiss the corner of his mouth.
The world of a Grimm is scary and hard but you’re more than willing to be there for him. What are spouses for if they don’t help their partner?
…You’re Monroe’s younger sibling and meet Nick for the first time.

“{Y/n}, this is my good buddy Nick.” You gasp loudly as your brother introduces you to the handsome young detective standing before you. You grin brightly in awe.
“The Grimm?!” You ask excitedly and Nick smiles shyly, cheeks red.
“Uhm, yeah, that’s me.” He shifts awkwardly before offering you his hand. You bounce on your toes and happily shake his hand.
“Can I see it?!” The excitement in your voice only growing. He gets a confused and slightly disturbed look on his face as his gaze shifts over to Monroe.
“See what?” He asks cautiously as you let go of his hand.
“You know! Your Grimm stare, the black void!” He flushes redder and Monroe makes an uneasy huff beside you.
“Uhm, I guess.” Nick shifts uneasily again but smiles softly, “Go ahead and Woge.” You giggle happily and take a deep breath before forcing yourself to Woge. Nick swallows thickly and you gasp in horror at the sight of the soul-crushing blackness that over takes his eyes.
Your fear snaps you back to your human image as you gasp desperately in fear. Nick’s eyes naturally slip back to their usual color and he worriedly places a hand on your arm.
“You alright, {Y/n}?” He’s cautious but suddenly you’re grinning and throwing yourself into his arms.
“That was sooooo freaky!” You’re giggling again as you cling to the shocked Grimm, “So awesome, dude!” You suddenly pull back and grin brightly at him.
“Can I kiss you?!” He looks completely taken aback, stunned speechless, “Oh please, please, please! I want to tell everyone back home I kissed the Portland Grimm and lived!”
He’s completely red with embarrassment now and Monroe’s groaning in exasperation. Nick shifts uncomfortably but nods slowly. He slowly lowers his head and gently presses a chaste kiss too your lips. It’s short and sweet but you can practically feel the Grimm energy rolling off of him.
The kiss breaks a moment later and you’re left gasping in shock. You giggle again and hug him. He seems nervous but slowly hugs you back.
